British GT: Pole position for Howard and Adam
Beechdean AMR’s drivers Andrew Howard and Jonathan Adam have claimed pole position for the fifth round of British GT at Spa-Francorchamp. This is their third pole position in the season.
Their aggregate time of 2:22.574 recorded during Friday afternoon’s qualifying session was enough to overcome the challenge posed by Oman Racing Team’s drivers Liam Griffin and Rory Butcher who were 0.288 seconds behind.
The places in the second starting row of the grid are won by two BMW Z4 GT3s – Barwell Motorsport pair Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen, and Ecurie Ecosse’s duo, reigning champions Marco Attard and Alexander Sims. In the fifth spot were Andrew Firth and Jody Firth in the TF Sport’s Aston Martin. The team will be accompanied in the third row with another pair from Oman Racing Team- Ahmad Al Harthy and Daniel Lloyd.
In the GT4 class, the fastest in the qualifying was ISSY Racing’s Lotus Evora with Oz Yusuf and Gavan Kershaw. In second place were Jamie Chadwick and Ross Gunn (Beechdean AMR), while the starters second row will have James Birch and Aleksander Schjerpen (Century Motorsport) and Fox Motorsport’s drivers Jamie Stanley and Paul McNeilly.
Start of the British GT two-hour race at Spa-Francorchamp is scheduled for Saturday 12:15 CET.
