Champion on pole at Rockingham

Reigning champion Marco Attard and Alexander Sims secured pole position for the second race of the British GT season at Rockingham.

The drivers of Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 GT3 had an aggregate time of 2:46.786 minutes and will have advantage at the start of the two-hour long race on Sunday. In the front row they will accompanied by Andrew Howard and Jonathan Adam of Beechdean-AMR in Aston Martin Vantage.

They are followed by another three Aston Martins. Daniel Lloyd and Ahmad Al-Harthy of Oman Racing Team/Motorbase Performance were third, fourth were Matt Bell and Derek Johnson (TF Sport), while on the fifth are Rory Butcher and Liam Griffin (Oman Racing Team/Motorbase Performance), the winners of the opening race at Oulton Park.

In the GT4 class, the best result was achieved by Beechdean-AMR’s duo of Jamie Chadwick and Ross Gunn in Aston Martin. They were superior finishing with 1.3 seconds faster than Stefan Hodgetts and Richard Williams in GPRM’s Toyota GT 66.
