ELMS: G-Drive Racing wins 4 Hours of Silverstone

The start of the 2016 European Le Mans Series at Silverstone was marked by almost winter conditions and the victory of G-Drive Racing team.

Russian team’s Gibson 015S-Nissan which was driven by Giedo van der Garde, Simon Dolan and Harry Tincknell, was the fastest in the relatively interesting race. A lap behind the winning team finished another Russian side. The SMP Racing’s BR 01-Nissan with drivers Stefano Coletti, Julian Leal and Andreas Wirth finished second while the third place overall and in the LMP2 class was won by French team SO24! By Lombard Racing and drivers Vincent Capillaire, Olivier Lombard and Jonathan Coleman in Ligier JS P2-Judd.

Class wins for United Autosport and JMW Motorsport

United Autosports’ Ligier JS P3-Nissan car #2 was the best in the LMP3 class ahead of the American team’s car #3. In the GTE class, British teams occupied the podium. JMW Motorsport’s Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 finished as the winner, followed by a pair of Aston Martin Racing’s V8 Vantages.
