GP2 Series: Alex Lynn triumphs in sprint race at Catalunya

DAMS’ driver Alex Lynn won the GP2 Series sprint race at Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya what is his second career triumph at this track.

Marciello had a pole position for the race 2, but Lynn looked very resolute to overtake him. That happened in lap 4 and DAMS’ driver stayed on the top until the end.

Safety car went out to the track after accident in lap 22 when Antonio Giovinazzi and Arthur Pic were knocked out. The race was ended under the yellow flags and Lynn scored his third career win. Prema Racing’s Pierre Gasly finished second to take a lead in the championship while Jordan King (Racing Engineering) took third position at Catalunya Circuit.

Russian driver Artem Markelov again was fourth while Raffaele Marciello finished fifth. Oliver Rowland, Nicholas Latifi, Nobuharu Matsushita, Sergio Canamasas and Gustav Malja scored the remaining points in sprint race.
