GP3 Hungary: Kevin Ceccon wins in sprint race

In the second and much colder day of the weekend, the Hungaroring sprint race was conquered by Kevin Ceccon who started the race from the second position. The race started with a staller, so the second formation lap had to be completed.

Kevin Ceccon made a fantastic start and overtook Antonio Fuoco who soon finished the race early by hitting the wall as well as Emil Bernstorff. Arthur Janosz was also out of the race soon.

The safety car was deployed and the race restarted on lap 4 with Ocon behind the new leader. Matt Parry made a bold move on championship leader Luca Ghiotto and climbed up to fourth.

Halfway into the race, Ceccon was 1.5s in front of Esteban Ocon and the duo was followed by Jimmy Eriksson, while the fastest driver was Matheo Tuscher whose driving was fantastic despite him being stuck in the middle of the table.

Campos’ driver Samin Gomez finished the race early and in the final laps, there was a battle for points between Jenzer teammates Ralph Boschung and Matheo Tuscher. Ceccon took the second sprint race win in row in front of Ocon who set the fastest lap, Eriksson, Parry and Ghiotto in top five. Kirchhofer was sixth, followed by Varhaug, Boschung, Tuscher and Gilbert. The detailed results are the following:
