GP3: Luca Ghiotto takes the pole for Spa-Francorchamps feature

Saturday at Spa-Francorchamps began 9:45AM local time with GP3 cars qualifying for the feature race later in the afternoon. Matthew Parry started pushing early, completing the first fastest lap in 2:07.074, but was topped by several drivers, with Matheo Tuscher taking the best time of 2:06.402, 0.137s in front of Marvin Kirchhofer. Marvin later improved to 2:05.921, just 0.059 in front of the new leader, Esteban Ocon.

Halfway into the session, cars went to the pits for final setups, and Jann Mardenborough got extremely close to Oconjust 0.007s slower than the leader. Emil Bernstorff did 2:05.308 for the provisional pole, but was topped by Luca Ghiotto with 2:04.943. Ocon went up to second with 2:05.114, 0.171s behind the leader. Nobody could top Ghiotto who will start the race from pole, followed by Ocon, Kirchhofer, Bernstorff and Fuoco in top five. Kevin Ceccon was sixth, with Matt Parry, and Matheo Tuscher in seventh and eighth. The last two in top ten were Jimmy Eriksson and Alfonso Celis Jr. You can see more detailed results here:
