Formula Renault Eurocup: Palmer wins race 1 in Monaco

The R-ace GP driver Will Palmer is the winner of the Formula Renault Eurocup 2.0 Series race 1 in Monaco what is his third win of the season.

Palmer started from pole position in the first race of the weekend. Behind the R-ace GP driver were Sacha Fenestraz, series leader Robert Shwartzman, and Daniel Ticktum. The rookie driver soon dropped to the 6th while Max Defourny moved up to the 4th position.

Interestingly, there wasn’t any change in top 10 standings after seven laps. Palmer was under constant pressure by Fenestraz but the Frenchman wasn’t able to find room for overtaking. The R-ace GP driver was calm and concentrated in the final laps of the race to score his 3rd win of the season and to take the lead in the Drivers’ Championship.

Fenestraz finished 2nd in the race, 1.5s behind the winner, while Defourny completed the podium after overtaking Shwartzman on the penultimate lap.
