Dan Ticktum scored his second consecutive victory in the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix after dominating all the weekend at the iconic Macau Guia Circuit. The 19-year-old driver of the #1 Motopark Academy Dallara-Volkswagen was the fastest qualifier, then won Qualifying Race on Saturday and finally triumphed in the Main Race on Sunday, beating his teammate Joel Eriksson.
Carlin’s Sacha Fenestraz finished the race in the third place in another Dallara-Volkswagen.
The race was marred by a horrific accident of Sophia Florsch in the #25 car. After a contact with Ferdinand Habsburg, she went airborne, hit Sho Tsuboi and then into the fence, injuring photographers and marshals. Fortunately, nobody was killed. The race was red-flagged because the fence had to be repaired.
