FIA prepares tender for the new teams in Formula 1

Jean Todt, FIA President, told that the ruling body may open the tender for the new teams in Formula 1 very soon. This season competition will have only 10 teams, thanks to very last minute deal with Manor Marussia team whiched missed last three GP’s last year.

Caterham is lost for this season and Spanish team Hispania Racing left the competition in the 2012. That’s why, F1 is screaming for some fresh blood. FIA last tender opened in 2013 and grantde an entry to American team Haas and to Romanian team Forza Rossa which are scheduled to join the grid in 2016.

Todt also said that FIA is trying to find a solution for costs reduction and encourage all the interested teams and investors to join the competetion.

“I am not happy for Marussia and Caterham, but that sort of thngs are always happened. But, in 2016 we will have a new team and we make a tender again for one or two teams to encourage other teams“, said Todt and added:

“We will try to reduce the costs. That is one of the things that is being addressed to find a solution“.

Todt also repeated that FIA decision to change the engine formula and introduce V6 power units, despite the critics, was perfectly sensible.

“I feel it is one of the few sensible decisions which has been taken over the last period. Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, so we must be an example to society. It is not all happening in a kind of closed golden-gated community where nothing is happening on the other side of the world”.
