Ferrari Challenge North America - Anassis wins race 1 at Sonoma
The second round of the Ferrari Challenge North America goes on at Sonoma Raceway and Emmanuel Anassis (Ferrari of Quebec) is the winner of the first race. Steve Johnson and Joe Courtney also scored class wins in the opening race in California.
Trofeo Pirelli
Canadian Anassis had pole position for the race and secured a very tight victory, beating his rivals after the very close battle. Carlos Kauffmann (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) from Venezuela and Gregory Romanelli (Ferrari of Florida) finished second and third respectively, being less than a second behind the winner.
After three races in the 2016 campaign, Anassis tops Trofeo Pirelli standings with 55 points. Romanelli is second with 40 and Ricardo Perez de Lara (Ferrari of Houston) holds third place with 35 points.

Pirelli-Am
The Trofeo Pirelli-Am class race also was very close and intense. Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale’s Steve Johnson scored his third consecutive win this season, this time being faster than Patrice Brisebois (Ferrari of Quebec) and Arthur Romanelli (The Collection).
Johnson leads in the Trofeo Pirelli-Am class with 63 points, Brisebois is second with 37 and Caesar Bacarella (Ferrari of Long Island) is third with 33 points.
Coppa Shell
In the Coppa Shell race, Joe Courtney (Miller Motorcars) and Chris Cagnazzi (Ferrari of Long Island) battled for the victory and at the end, Courtney was faster 0.6s to secure the second win this year. Well behind them on third was Rob Hodes (Ferrari of Newport Beach).
After three races, Courtney heads overall standings with 54 points, Cagnazzi is second with 38 and Barry Zekelman (Ferrari of Ontario) is third with 28 points.
Race 2 of Ferrari Challenge North America at Sonoma Raceway is scheduled for Sunday 23.30 CET.
