ADAC F4 - Red Bull Ring: Sunday winners are Mawson and Laaksonen
Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Simo Laaksonen (Motopark) are the winers of two Sunday’s races of the ADAC F4 Championship at the Austrian Red Bull Ring. For the championship leader Mawson it was his sixth win of the season and he remained on the top of the championship order. For the Finnish driver Laaksonen it was his maiden F4 victory.

Joey Mawson remains championship leader
In the Sunday’s morning race Joey Mawson started from pole and remained in front until the end of the race. The 20-year-old Australian took the maximum points to extend his championship lead ahead of Mike David Ortmann and Nicklas Nielsen. Mawson’s closest rival, Mick Schumacher, started from back of the field and progressed from 33rd to 11th place. Unfortunately, such a heroic effort wasn’t enough for new points. Thomas Preining, the local driver who won Saturday’s race, started from the front row next to Mawson, but eventually went off the track and retired.
In Race 3, on Sunday afternoon, the similar situation repeated as in the Race 2, as the pole-sitter has won the race. The pole-sitter was 17-year-old Simo Laaksonen. Mick Schumacher, who started seventh, progressed to the second place, ahead of Joey Mawson, who made his was from ninth starting position. The rookie Nicklas Nielsen managed one more good result, finishing fourth and the best among rookies.
