Retirement from Formula 1 and switch to touring cars
Most of Campos’ retirements were due to failures of the car than to his mistakes. He stayed with Minardi in 1988 but after the stream of failures continued, he decided to retire from Formula 1 and turn attention to touring cars and prototype cars racing and had more success.
