Deletraz took the lead on lap 3 while Ghiotto passed Malja for P4 on lap 4. Ghiotto needed seven more laps to get first place. On lap 12, Deletraz lost one more place to Sette Camara and then dropped to P4 on lap 19, behind Fuoco.
Championship leader Charles Leclerc, who started from back of the grid, progressed to P9, missing to score points. Other championship front-runners Oliver Rowland and Artem Markelov were also out of the points. Ghiotto remained fourth in the championship order, reducing a gap behind third-placed Markelov.
