ADAC GT Masters: Perfect race for defending champions at Sachsenring
Defending ADAC GT Masters champions Connor de Phillippi and Christopher Mies scored their second win of the 2017 season today in the first race of the sixth round at Sachsenring.
De Phillippi started from pole position in the #1 Montaplast by Land Motorsport Audi R8 LMS and handed over to his teammate as the leader. Mies converted that lead into their second win after they triumphed in July at Zandvoort.

Race 1 podium at Sachsenring
Team Zakspeed’s #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished in the second place, driven by Nicolai Sylvest and Yelmer Buurman. It’s the first point-finish for Sylvest who was sharing a car for the first time with Buurman. One more Mercedes crew reached a podium, as Marvin Kirchhofer and Indy Dontje finished third in the #48 HTP Motorsport’s car.
Callaway Competition’s Jules Gounon, who has a big advantage on the top of the championship standings, finished ninth in today’s race. He was sharing the #77 Corvette C7 GT3-R with Renger van der Zande. Philipp Eng, who is second in the championship, finished fourth today in the #42 Schnitzer’s BMW M6 GT3, which he was sharing with Nick Catsburg.
