A trailer for Paul Newman racing documentary looks fantastic!

One of the most famous actors and racers is finally getting a documentary dedicated to his life on and out of screen and track, and its release is expected on May 22 and is called Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman. It will be directed by Adam Carolla, a racer and a comedian who currently owns and races some of Newman’s cars and will star Jay Leno, Robert Redford, Patrick Dempsey and many others. The documentary will cover Newman’s racing career which started quite late, when he was in his forties.

In addition to being a brilliant actor, Paul Newman was also a successful racer. He was 1979 Le Mans class winner and second overall, a team owner, owning Newman Freeman Racing and Newman/Haas Racing and is a posthumous SCCA Hall of Fame alumni. One of his last roles was of Doc Hudson, a retired Fabulous Hudson Hornet in Pixar’s animated movie Cars, but that wasn’t his only racing related role. In 1969, he starred in a movie called Winning, and that’s when he fell in love with racing, so it’s no surprise that the documentary bears the same name. This is where we’ll stop and eagerly wait for this great documentary to come out!
