The fifth round of the British GT will be held this weekend at Spa-Francorchamp as the series’ only race to be held out of Great Britain this season.

After four rounds, reigning champions Marco Attard and Alexander Sms are right at the top of the GT3 standings with a total of 83 points. They  are followed by Oman Racing Team’s pair: Rory Butcher and Liam Griffin with 71.5 points. Lee Mowle and Joe Osborne of Triple Eight Racing are in the third spot with 64 points.

The leading trio will be challenged by Beechdean AMR’s former champions— Andrew Howard and Jonathan Adam. They have clinched one victory so far and one pole position, but were quiet inconsistent and failed to use their talent to score a few more points.

The other racing teams to watch out for in Belgium will be Von Ryan Racing, Team LNT and FF Corse, which have been quiet unpredictable in first rounds of the season. There will be also some guest teams, mostly local, including the well-known Marc VDS with its BMW Z4 GT3.

In the GT4 class, Beechdean AMR’s drivers Jamie Chadwick and Ross Gunn are topping the standings with 93 points. They won the previous two rounds at Rockingham and Silverstone and now are 31.5 points ahead of ISSY Racing’s Gavan Kershaw and Oz Yusuf.

Optimum Motorsport’s pair Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson, the winners of the first round at Oulton Park, currently stand third in the standings with 58 points.

Lotus, Aston Martin and Ginetta shared the GT4 spoils thus far, but they must be wary of  AmD Tuning’s Porsche which ran at the front for much of Silverstone’s three-hour race more than a month ago.
