Luca Ghiotto won the 22-laps long Hungaroring GP3 feature race. After Alex Lynn’s GP2 victory, the track cleared for GP3 cars. The race started 17:20 GMT+2 with pole winner Luca Ghiotto maintaining his leading position. Esteban Ocon overtook Emil Bernstorff and started chasing Ghiotto.

The chase for the lead was slowed down after safety car was deployed on lap 2 when Zaid Ashkanani took out Jann Mardenborough from behind, crushing his rear wing and leaving debris. On lap 6, the race restarted with a battle between Jenzer team mates Boschung and Tuscher and on the next lap, Marvin Kirchhofer squeezed himself in front of Emil Bernstorff, taking the third.

Halfway into the race, Luca Ghiotto was 0.9s in front of Ocon and by lap 15, the lead increased to 1.7s as Ocon began struggling. On lap 18, Tuscher ocertook Boschung in a fantastic side-by-side battle that could end badly for both of them. On lap 21, Ashkanani went off track but managed to return to the track and Ghiotto set the fastest lap, dominating the finish of the race. Esteban Ocon was second, followed by Kirchhofer who managed to keep Bernstorff and Parry off. Jimmy Eriksson was sixth, Ceccon and Fuoco on seventh and eighth, followed by Varhaug and Tuscher in top ten. The detailed results are the following:
