Yvan Muller is the winner of WTCC Race of China round two at Shanghai International Circuit. This is fifth victory for the Citroen driver this year and kept championship title hopes alive with four rounds remaining.

Nuno Valente and Gabriele Tarquini were in the front row for race 2, but the Italian quickly went on top, followed by Yvan Muller, Jose Maria Lopez and Sebastien Loeb. Valente was too aggressive and had a spin, so he was out of the race and was followed by Nick Catsburg.

At the half of the race, Citroens looked ready to attack Tarquini and in lap nine Muller took the lead. Experienced Italian later defended well and didn’t allow Lopez to overtake him, while Loeb was maybe too cautious as he had a chance to get something in that situation.

Muller won the race with a margin of 2.6s. Tarquini secured second place in a very close finish, leaving Lopez at third and Loeb at fourth place.

Ron Huff in Lada finished fifth, Tiago Monteiro was sixth, while Mehdi Bennani, Ma Qing Hua, Nicolas Lapierre and John FilippiĀ scored theĀ remaining points.
