Bentley Boys are the winners of Paul Ricard 1000 km race

Bentley Boys in the #8 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 are the winners of Paul Ricard 1000 km race, the third round of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. For Vincent Abril, Andy Soucek and Maxime Soulet it’s the first win of the season after they were sixth at Monza and fifth at Silverstone. With this victory, they jumped into the championship lead ahead of the most important race, the Spa 24 hours.

After six hours of racing and 170 laps around the Circuit Paul Ricard, a trio in the #8 Bentley crossed the finish line with a comfortable gap of 29.272 seconds ahead of second-placed #72 SMP Racing Ferrari 488 GT3, driven by Davide Rigon, Miguel Molina and Viktor Shaytar. Audi Sport Team WRT reached the third podium spot with #1 Audi R8 LMS driven by Rene Rast, Nico Muller and Antonio Garcia.

The race at Circuit Paul Ricard was the third round of the Blancpain endurance season

Five different manufacturers completed the top 5, as the #88 Akka ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 was fourth and the #23 Motul Team RJN Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 was fifth.

Barwell Motorsport’s Adrian Amstutz, Martin Kodric and Patrick Kujala, who were driving the #77 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, finished 12th overall and first in the ProAm class. It was their second class win of the season. The best Am class crew was in the #36 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 – Henry Walkenhorst, David Schiwietz and Stef van Campenhoudt.
