NASCAR at Martinsville: Clint Bowyer ends 190-race winless streak

It was worth waiting! Clint Bowyer finally ended the 190-race winless streak in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series by winning the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway. It’s the ninth Cup Series win in a career for Bowyer and the first after his triumph at Charlotte Motor Speedway in October 2012.

The driver of the #14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Fusion added Martinsville to his list of victorious track after winning 500-lap race at 0.526-mile circuit. The race has been delayed from Sunday to Monday when a severe snowstorm hit southern Virginia.

Bowyer scored his ninth career win in the NASCAR Cup Series

Bowyer was leading for 215 laps, from Lap 285 to the end of the race. Kyle Busch finished second for the third time in four races and took over the series lead from Martin Truex Jr., who started from the pole and finished fourth, behind Ryan Blaney.

Kevin Harvick finished fifth. Joey Logano, Alex Bowman, AJ Allmendinger, Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski completed the top 10.
