Nicholas Latifi (DAMS) and Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) are the winners of two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the third round of the season. Latifi has won so far in all three F2 events this season (Bahrain, Baku, Barcelona) and with three wins in six races he extended his lead in the championship standings.

In Saturday’s Feature Race, Latifi won ahead of Jack Aitken (Campos Racing) and Guanyu Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi Racing). Luca Ghiotto (UNI-Virtuosi Racing) earned four points for the fastest qualifying lap and he started the race from pole but in the end, he was just fourth. He recovered from a poor start and an accident with Boccolacci that forced him to pit for changing a wing.

Callum Ilott (Sauber Junior Team) finished eighth in the Feature Race, securing a pole position for Sunday’s Sprint Race. In the end, he ended the race in the third place, losing P2 on the final lap to Luca Ghiotto.

Nyck de Vries claimed his first win of the season after a superb drive in the race which he started from P4. He jumped to P2 on the start, behind Anthoine Hubert, and then passed him on lap 9. After that, he had no problems to stay in front for his fourth F2 victory in a career.
