Timmy Hansen (Team Hansen MJP) celebrated his second win of the season in the FIA World Rallycross Championship today at Silverstone Circuit.

To score his seventh World RX victory in a career, the Frenchman in the #21 Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar had to defeat Andreas Bakkerud (Monster Energy RX Cartel, Audi S1) and Anton Marklund (GC Kompetition, Megane RS RX), who shared the podium with him.

The other three finalists at Silverstone were Timo Scheider (Münnich Motorsport Seat Ibiza), Krisztian Szabo (EKS Sport Audi) and Liam Doran (Monster Energy RX Cartel Audi).

Seventeen Supercar drivers participated in the British World RX round. Timmy Hansen was the fastest in two Saturday’s qualifying heats while Andreas Bakkerud recorded two qualifying wins on Sunday. In two Semi Final races, it was a surprise that front-row starters Kevin Hansen and Joni Wiman dropped out from the contention for a victory. Wiman rolled out his Hyundai and the race was red-flagged.

After four rounds and two wins, Timmy Hansen is the championship leader with 88 points on his account, four points ahead of his brother Kevin. Andreas Bakkerud is third, eleven points behind Timmy. The next World RX round is scheduled for June 15-16 at Lankebanen in Hell, Norway.
