ADAC F4: Eriksson wins in Spielberg, Schumacher retired in first lap

Young Swedish driver Joel Eriksson (Motopark) is the winner of first race of ADAC F4 Championship at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria). Earlier today Eriksson secured pole position and in race he was leading from lights to chequered flag, in front of Prema Powerteam duo of Ralf Aron and Guan Yu Zhou.

Other drivers in Top 10, who gets the points, are Michael Waldherr (Motopark), Tim Zimmermann (Neuhauser Racing), Robert Shwartzmann (Mucke Motorsport), David Beckmann (Mucke Motrosport), Mattia Drudi (SMG), Janneau Esmeijer (HTP Junior Team) and Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing).

Mick Schumacher (Van Amersfoort Racing), son of F1 legend Michael Schumacher, had a bad start and retired in first lap. He damaged suspension on his #25 Tatuus Abarth formula and went off track to rubber wall. He is unhurt and probably will start in Race 2 tommorow.

There was two Safety car periods, one after Schumacher’s accident and another after Jan Jonck (RS Competition) went off to the fence. 39 formulas was participated in qualifying, 37 of them appeared on the start and 30 cars finished the race. One the drivers who wasn’t finished is Marvin Dienst(HTP Junior Team), who was leader in championship classificaton. After Race 1 in Spielberg new leader is Ralf Aron.

Two more races in Spielberg are scheduled for tommorow at 12.00 and 17.30 (CET).
