GP3 Series Abu Dhabi test: Leclerc quickest on final day

Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix) posted the quickest time in both the morning and afternoon session on the third and final day of GP3 Series post-season testing at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. With laptime of 1.54.571 he beat the previous fastest lap record set by Marvin Kirchhofer last year. Kevin Jörg and Jake Hughes  (both Arden International) were second and third fastest on final day. To remind you, Leclerc was fastest on Day 1.

On day three of testing there was one new face to the line-up: Argentine Marcos Siebert came in to test the #20 Jenzer Motorsport machine. There were a two red-flag periods in the morning session, first when Santino Ferrucci (Status Grand Prix) stopped on track and second when Nabil Jeffri (Koiranen GP) made contact with the barrier at Turn 20 and damaged his rear wing. Leclerc was fastest ahead of Kevin Jörg and Alex Albon (ART Grand Prix).

In the afternoon session Leclerc again showed his pace. Leclerc and Albon changed the top spot numerous times, but Swiss rookie Jörg lapped a tenth faster than the pair. At the end Leclerc reclaimed the head of the timesheet with the best time of the three day test-session. Jörg was secnd fastest again, ahead Hughes, Leonardo Pulcini (Trident) and Konstantin Tereshchenko (Campos Racing).
