ADAC F4 - Red Bull Ring: Victory for the young Austrian on home ground

Thomas Preining, the only Austrian driver in the ADAC Formula 4 field, is the winner of the first race of the Austrian round of the championship. The Lechner Racing’s driver scored his first F4 victory two days after his 18th birthday. On Friday, Preining took the pole position and converted it to the victory, leading from lights to flag in the 18-lap race.

Juri Vips (Prema Powerteam) and Kim Luis Schramm (US Racing) completed the podium. The championship leader Joey Mawson missed the podium, but the fourth place was enough to remain in the points lead ahead of Mick Schumacher, who finished sixth in today’s race. Between Mawson and Schumacher was Nicklas Nielsen in the fifth place.

Two more races at Red Bull Ring are scheduled for tomorrow.
