2016 ADAC GT Masters: New cars, new teams, new drivers
2016 ADAC GT Masters kicks-off this weekend at Oschersleben Arena with a plenty of new cars, teams, and drivers on the grid.
Supercars and superstars
No less than six new or the latest versions of the cars will feature in ADAC GT Masters this season with many of them being new in the series. Total of 19 teams enters the competition and seven of them are here for the first time – ADAC NSA/Attempto Racing Team, Aust Motorsport, Bonaldi Motorsport, Car Collection Motorsport, HB Racing, KUS TEAM75 Bernhard and Montaplast by Land-Motorsport while three teams are returning to the competition – Phoenix Racing, Precote Herberth Motorsport and GRT Grasser Racing Team.

The drivers line-up also had many changes. Reigning champions Luca Ludwig and Sebastian Asch will defend their crown, but we will also see many well-known names like Formula E driver and former ADAC champion Daniel Abt, former Le Mans winner Guy Smith, or rising GT star Laurens Vanthoor. There are also the other famous racers like Kevin Estre, Luca Stolz, Jaap van Lagen, Daniel Keilwitz etc. Another major change was made in the racing schedule. Qualifying for the two races will take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings a few hours before, which means that the cars will be out on track far longer than was previously the case on those days.
Increased prize money
That is just one of the proofs that ADAC GT Masters continues to turn attention worldwide and definitely is one of the fastest growing competitions, not only under ADAC’s umbrella but in Europe. Prize money for the competitors increased for 2016 with a total budget of 500.000 euros.
