Renault Sport Trophy: Victory for the Team Marc VDS despite time penalty

Markus Palttala and Fabian Schiller earned the first victory for the Team Marc VDS EG 0,0 in the 2016 Renault Sport Trophy. They won the Endurance race at Motorland Aragon despite the 15sec time penalty because Schiller crossed the finish line with 20sec gap ahead of Fredrik Blomstedt (R-ace GP). The Finnish-German pair in the #9 Renault R.S.01 was penalized after they didn’t respect the minimum pit stop time during driver change.

Markus Palttala started the race from fifth place on the grid and came to the pit stop behind Lewis Williamson in the #42 Strakka Racing’s car. Williamson led the race from pole and earned maximum 25 points in the Pro drivers classification after he finished his 18-lap stint as the leader.
