Formula Renault: Will Palmer on the top podium spot at Monza
Will Palmer secures another victory for the R-ace GP team in the season-opening round of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup at Monza circuit. After Saturday’s victory of Robert Shwartzman, the 20-year-old Briton reached a top podium spot after dominating in the race from start to finish.
Palmer started second on the grid but jumped to P1 before turn 1, stealing a lead from Gabriel Aubry. The Safety Car period came early in the race after Chaves-Peroni collision.
Following the restart, Max Defourny lost P3 from Robert Shwartzman and Sacha Fenestraz. With minute and a half before 25-minute mark, Shwartzman attacked Aubry. A duel ended with a collision, which ended a race for both.
Their misfortune promoted Sacha Fenestraz to his second podium in two races. Max Defourny finished in the third place.
