British racer Josh Files is the inaugural TCR Middle East Series champion. He won both races in the third round at Bahrain International Circuit, driving the Honda Civic TCR for Lap 57 team, to take his second touring car title in a career after he won the 2016 ADAC TCR Germany. After three rounds (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain) and four victories, Files collected 110 points, five more than Brandon Gdovic, who was driving Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for Liqui Moly Team Engstler. Luca Engstler (Team Engstler) finished third in the final standings.

A final round of new TCR series was a little bit disappointing, as only five cars participated in two races at Bahrain’s 2.56km circuit. Besides three championship contender, other two drivers were Davit Kajaia (Mulsanne Racing, Alfa Romeo Giulietta) and Giacomo Altoe (Team Engstler, VW Golf).
