DJR Team Penske’s Fabian Coulthard scores his third win of the season and 8th win in a V8 Supercars career today at Hidden Valley Raceway. He wins the first race of the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown, extending his lead in the championship.

After 42 laps, the #12 Shell V-Power Ford Falcon crossed the finish line less than a second ahead of Scott McLaughlin‘s #17 Ford, making it the third race of the season with 1-2 victory for DJR Team Penske.

Brad Jones Racing’s Nick Percat brings his #8 Holden Commodore to the third place, scoring his first podium of the season. In the closing laps, Percat manages to hold off Jamie Whincup. Chaz Mostert finished fifth. Cameron Waters, Craig Lowndes, David Reynolds, James Moffat and Lee Holdsworth completed the top 10. It’s interesting that ninth-placed James Moffat was the fastest man on the track, breaking the race lap record with a lap time 1:06.9824.

Nissan’s Rick Kelly started from pole and stayed in the lead until he pitted on lap 8. He lost few places after that but his race ended on lap 18 when he crashed out into the tyre wall, causing the Safety Car intervention. The cause of an accident was stuck throttle. Fabian Coulthard took the lead when all drivers made their pit stops and remained in the lead after a restart.
