Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) wins the Monaco Grand Prix, converting his pole position into the second win of the season and his seventh Formula 1 victory in a career. Two years after team’s mistake robbed him from victory in Monaco, the redemption for Ricciardo comes with a dominant win ahead of two greatest rivals Sebastian Vettel (Scuderia Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes).

Ricciardo has won the race despite engine and gearbox problems in the second part of the race, which left him with only six gears. His teammate Max Verstappen also made a heroic effort after starting last on the grid, finishing in the ninth place.

Other point scorers are Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari, 4th), Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes, 5th), Esteban Ocon (Force India, 6th), Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso, 7th), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault, 8th) and Carlos Sainz (Renault, 10th). Fernando Alonso was in the points but gearbox problems stopped him before the end of the race.

Lewis Hamilton stays in the championship lead after six races. He collected 110 points so far, fourteen more then Vettel. Ricciardo is third with 72 points. The next championship round is the Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 10.
