Kevin Harvick continues his good season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series by winning for the seventh time this year. He triumphed in the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway, after leading for 108 of 200 laps at the two-mile oval in Brooklyn, Michigan. It’s his second victory at Michigan and 44th Cup Series win in a career.

The driver of the #4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Fusion crossed the finish line 3.233 seconds ahead of Brad Keselowski in the #2 Team Penske Ford. The championship leader Kyle Busch finished third in the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry.

Austin Dillon was a runner-up until the penultimate lap when a cut tire slowed him down and he finished fourth, ahead of Ryan Blaney. Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola, pole-sitter Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott and Joey Logano completed the top 10.

In the regular-season series standings, Kyle Busch maintained a 62-point lead over Harvick. The next race would be the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 18.
