Johan Kristoffersson wins the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, the seventh round of the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship. It’s the sixth win of the season for the reigning world champion in the #1 Volkswagen Polo R of the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden.

Kristoffersson scored a victory in Canada in front of two Team Peugeot Total drivers – Timmy Hansen was second and Sebastien Loeb finished third. The other finalists in the Canadian World RX round were Mattias Ekstrom (EKS Audi Sport, 4th), Petter Solberg (PSRX Volkswagen Sweden, 5th) and Janis Baumanis (Stard Ford Fiesta, 6th).

Fifteen drivers participated in Canadian World RX round

Johan Kristoffersson was a dominant driver on Sunday, winning two qualifying heats and Semi Final race. On Saturday, Sebastien Loeb was the fastest in both qualifying heats.

Johan Kristoffersson extends the championship lead after the Canadian round and he’s now 55 points ahead of Sebastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen (195:140). Petter Solberg and Andreas Bakkerud collected 139 points each, five more than Mattias Ekstrom.

The next World RX round is scheduled for September 1-2 at Circuit de Loheac in France.
