ADAC F4 Championship - Nürburgring: 4th win for Marvin Dienst

Marvin Dienst (HTP Junior Team) win first race of ADAC F4 Championship at Nürburgring today. It was his 4th win this season and he’s still 3rd in overall championship standings. Dienst has won in front of  team-mate Janneau Esmeijer, who started from pole but lost the lead in opening lap. Dienst and Esmeijer remained their position through the race and after 21 laps difference was 2.8 seconds. It was Esmeijer’s third 2nd place in 13 races this season.

Behind leading duo there was a fight for third podium sport between championship leader Joel Eriksson (Motopark) and Lando Norris (Mücke Motorsport). Norris started 4th and immediately jumped to 3rd, with Eriksson behind him. In Lap 3 Eriksson overtook third position, but five laps later he runned wide in first turn and Norris was back on third.

David Beckmann (Mücke Motorsport) finished fifth, but it wasn’t easy for him. At the start he felt from third to fifth and remained there until lap 19. His team-mate Robert Shwartzmann attacked and took 5th place, but in the next lap Beckmann fought back and finished ahead Shwartzmann. Ralf Aron (Prema Powerteam) finished seventh after few fights with Shwartzmann and Mick Schumacher (Van Amersfoort Racing). We saw his final move on young Schumacher in lap 15. ‘Schumi’ lost one more position in last lap, against his team-mate Joey Mawson.

Schumacher finished 9th and due to the reversed grid will start from the first row in Race 3 tommorow, together with 10th placed Tim Zimmermann (Neuhauser Racing). Same situation Schumacher had in third race of first ADAC F4 event at Oschersleben, when he achieved his maiden win. So it will be interesting to see tommorow can he repeat such a success.

There will be one more race today, with scheduled start for 16.45 (local time). Race 3 will start at 15.35 tommorow.
