Reigning champions Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig are the winners of the ADAC GT Masters round two opening race at Sachsenring. Team Zakspeed’s Mercedes took the lead after drivers change and easily triumphed.
GRT Grasser Racing did well in the first half of the race
GRT Grasser Racing Team #16 Lamborghini had a pole position for the opening race and Luca Stolz managed to keep it on the top until the drivers change. Reigning champion Team Zakspeed #1 Mercedes with Sebastian Asch was 5.5s behind while Connor De Phillippi in Land Motorsport’s Audi did a good job to move up to third.

As it is usual in ADAC GT Masters races, the safety car was often on the track and in the middle of the race it already had four outings on track while the four cars were out of the race, including Bonaldi Motorsport’s #3 Lamborghini which started from the fourth position.
Ludwig takes the lead and comfortably wins
After the drivers change standings on the top of the grid were changed. Team Zakspeed with Luca Ludwig behind the wheel of Mercedes took the lead ahead of Land Motorsport, now with Christopher Mies in the seat while another Audi, kfzteile24 – APR Motorsport’s #25, moved up to third, but was being really challenged by Daniel Keilwitz in Callaway Competition’s #77 Corvette. GRT Grasser’s #16 dropped well down after pit-stop, but late in the race managed to get back in the points zone, still not enough to battle for the podium places.
