Double triumph for Kyle Larson at Auto Club Speedway
Who is most suitable to win at the former California Speedway than Californian? And he did it two times in two days. Kyle Larson sweeps the NASCAR weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
First, he won the Xfinity Series Service King 300 on Saturday and then triumphed in the Auto Club 400 race on Sunday. For Larson, it was his only second Cup Series in a career and sixth Xfinity Series win since his debut in 2013.

After three second-place finishes, finally a victory
Larson reached his second Cup Series win in a career after three consecutive second-place finishes in this year’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He started from pole in Sunday’s Auto Club 400, led the race-high 110 laps and pulled away on overtime restart to finally park Chip Ganassi Racing’s #42 Chevrolet in the Victory Lane.
Brad Keselowski, who damaged his #2 Ford early in the race, after spinning on Lap 3, finished second. Clint Bowyer finished third, posting his best finish since June 2015 at Sonoma, where he also came home third. Martin Truex Jr, who earned extra points by winning the Stage 2 after 120 laps, was fourth at the end, ahead of Joey Logano. Larson extended his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series lead to 29 points over second-place Chase Elliott, who finished 10th on Sunday.

Larson’s victory in Service King 300 at Auto Club Speedway
Sixth Xfinity Series win for Larson
On Saturday, Larson announced an unforgettable weekend by taking a victory in the Service King 300 Xfinity Series race, beating pole-sitter Joey Logano after a final restart with four laps to go. Logano chased Larson to the checkered flag but couldn’t prevent the driver of the #42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet from scoring his first victory of the season, his second at Fontana and the sixth Xfinity Series win of his career.
Logano was leading for a race-high 70 laps during the race. Kyle Busch led 55 laps and won both the first and second stages of the race, He finished third after scraping the wall on Lap 122 while in pursuit of Logano, who was leading at the time. Erik Jones finished fourth, ahead of rookie William Byron, who was the highest-finishing Xfinity Series regular. Byron is now second in the series standings, 17 points behind seventh-place finisher Elliott Sadler.
