The FIA World Motor Sport Council held its meeting in Paris today, announcing some important decisions about FIA championship calendars and regulations. The council confirmed the 2017-18 FIA Formula E Championship calendar, which was provisional since its introduction few months ago.

Today, a calendar became official and it’s already a historic, because FIA is preparing a return of circuit racing to Switzerland for the first time since racing was banned in 1955, following that year’s Le Mans tragedy. The tenth round of the fourth Formula E season is scheduled for June 10, 2018, in Zürich. The Swiss city is one of four new venues in a calendar, together with Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo and Rome.

The season will kick-off in December with a double-header event in Hong Kong. New York and Montreal will also host double program in the final two weekends of the season, same as in the 2016/2017 season.
