One of the new regulation changes before the start of the FIA Formula 2015-16 season is the limitation of driver changes per car.

;

During the inaugural season, a total of 30 drivers took part in Formula E with many teams having multiple changes. Starting from this season, teams will be limited to just two changes and no changes will be allowed during the final three rounds of the season, as to avoid any potential conflict in the battle for the championship title.

;

If the driver is unavailable for an unforeseen reason, a change of driver will be permitted at the discretion of the Stewards, but all replacement drivers must comply with the new e-Licence system, which is a mandatory requirement to participate in an FIA Formula E Championship event.

;

New season starts on October 24th and in this moment nine out of ten teams completed their driver line-ups. Only Team Aguri is still looking for options as both their seats are empty.
