GP2 Series: Matsushita fastest in sprint race
Japanese driver Nobuharu Matsushita is the winner of the GP2 Series Sprint race in Monaco. This is the second victory for the 22-year-old racer in his GP2 career so far.
Matsushita started from pole position and immediately built nice advantage but on the lap 3, safety car was deployed after accident with two cars involved. Philo Paz Armand was forced to retire. Soon later, Sergey Sirotkin and Sean Gelael also retired and Nicholas Latifi followed them, failing to finish the race again, just like the day earlier.
The Japanese driver of the ART Grand Prix team easily won the race, 13.6s ahead of Carlin’s Marvin Kirchhofer who earned his first podium in the series. Raffaele Marciello Russian Time team has completed Top 3 in the Sprint race in Monaco.
