Formula 1: Fourth Singaporean pole position for Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel (Scuderia Ferrari) clinches his third pole position this season and 49th pole position in F1 career by setting the fastest time today in the qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. This is Vettel’s fourth pole position at Marina Bay street circuit on which he already won four times.

Vettel will share the front row with Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who was 0.323 seconds slower in the decisive qualifying run. We will see Red Bull/Ferrari combination in the second row too, as Daniel Ricciardo was the third fastest and Kimi Raikkonen was fourth fastest. Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will start from P5 and P6.

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), Fernando Alonso (McLaren), Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) and Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) completed the top 10.

Sebastian Vettel has four wins at Marina Bay Street Circuit

Max Verstappen was the fastest driver in Q1 and Q2, ahead of his teammate Ricciardo. Five drivers who dropped out after Q1 were Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Felipe Massa (Williams), Lance Stroll (Williams), Pascal Wehrlein (Sauber) and Marcus Ericsson (Sauber).

The Q2 session was the end of the game for Jolyon Palmer (Renault), Sergio Perez (Force India), Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Esteban Ocon (Force India) and Romain Grosjean (Haas).
