Penultimate round of 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season will take place this weekend at Pocono Raceway. After 14 races championship leader is Juan Pablo Montoya (Team Penske), just nine points ahead of Graham Rahal (RLL Racing). Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) is third and further 25 points down. Ten drivers have theoretical chance to fight for championship title.

ABC Supply 500 race will be held at famous Tricky Triangle, a triangular oval track. Drivers will run 200 laps around 2.5-mile track, which holds a record of fastest 500-mile race in history of Indy. Last year Montoya won with average speed of 202.402 mph. Montoya is also record holder with a two-lap qualifying record (223.871 mph) and the one-lap track record (223.920 mph).

So, according to that records, as the leader of championship standings and previous winner, Montoya is one of the favourites and he has a big opportunity to make an important move for his second championship title at American ground, after 1999 CART FedEx Championship Series title. Since the first Indy car race at Pocono in 1971, race winner from Pocono won the championship six times. Would that statistics be repeated we will find out very soon, because season finale at Sonoma is scheduled just a week after Pocono!

After Saturday’s qualifying, race at Pocono will start at 2.30 PM (local time) on Sunday.

Here’s the 24-car entry list for ABC Supply 500 race.
