German GP: Vettel crashed out from the lead, Hamilton wins from P14

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) wins the German Grand Prix, scoring his 66th Formula One victory in a career. He did that after starting 14th on the grid following mechanical issues during qualifying. Hamilton retakes the championship lead with his fourth win of the season as his main rival Sebastian Vettel (Scuderia Ferrari) crashed out from the lead on lap 53 (of 67).

Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) finished on the podium at Hockenheimring in the 11th round of the 2018 F1 World Championship.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), Romain Grosjean (Haas), Sergio Perez (Force India), Esteban Ocon (Force India), Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) and Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso) completed the top 10.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), who started from P19 because of a new engine on his car, stopped after 29 laps.

Disappointing end for Sebastian Vettel

Both Sebastian Vettel and Scuderia Ferrari, who came to Germany as championship leaders, dropped to P2 after the race. Lewis Hamilton leads by 17 points in Drivers’ championship while Mercedes leads by eight points in Manufacturers’ standings.

The championship willresume next weekend in Hungary with Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring.
