Mat Jackson made the Brands Hatch lap record in qualifying for season’s finale of British Touring Car Championship.  It’s the third consecutive pole position for the driver of Motorbase Performance’s Ford Focus ST. Team BMR’s Aron Smith and WIX Racing’s Adam Morgan were second and third respectively. Gordon Shedden qualified fourth and was the fastest of five championship title contenders.

Shedden’s Honda Civic Type R was carrying maximum success ballast so his qualifying time is even bigger success. Colin Turkington and Jason Plato finished the qualifying session fifth and sixth respectively. Matt Neal will start from 8th, sharing the fourth row with Tom Ingram.  Andy Priaulx at ninth place was the fastest among BMW drivers. Power Maxed Racing’s Josh Cook rounded top 10. MG Triple Eight Racing’s Andrew Jordan – currently fifth in the standings – set 13th qualifying time.
