Formula E is working on the development of Roborace series, with its kick-off planned for the next season.

;

According to the plan, the design of the new unmanned vehicle will be presented in February. It is expected that Roborace debut will take place in the season of 2016/2017, but if the prototype is not ready until the end of 2016, the launch of the series will have to be postponed. One-hour race Roborace should be held on the same tracks as the Formula E. Presumably, each of the ten teams will field two cars.

One for the future

“I think some of the details of the competition format will be announced in February or March. We hope that the first prototype will be ready in 10 months,” said Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag adding that Formula E should encourage development of such technologies.

;

“Perhaps in the future, cars will be on their own line up on the grid, but the basic elements of competition will remain the same,” concluded Agag.
