IndyCar Series: Mid-Ohio victory for Simon Pagenaud
Simon Pagenaud (Team Penske) scores his fourth victory of the season today at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The Frenchman won the Honda Indy 200 and after twelve rounds of the 2016 IndyCar season he increased the series lead ahead of teammate Will Power, who finished second today. Carlos Munoz (Andretti Autosport) completed the podium od the 90-lap race, scoring his second podium of the season.
Graham Rahal finished fourth, ahead of James Hinchcliffe. Conor Daly, who was leading until lap 84, but had to pit for a splash of fuel, returned to seventh place and finished sixth. He was promoted after a late collison of Takuma Sato and Sebastien Bourdais on Lap 88. Sato recovered and finished 9th, behind Spencer Pigot and Charlie Kimball, while Bourdais stayed in the gravel. Josef Newgarden completed the Top 10.
Scott Dixon, one of the leading driver in the championship, crashed out early, on Lap 15, after a contact with Helio Castroneves. Dixon later returned to race for few more laps, but at the end he stoppted in the pits. Another driver who crashed out was Jack Hawksworth on Lap 60.
