IndyCar Series: Scott Dixon scores his first win at Road America
Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) wins the Kohler Grand Prix at Road America, the eleventh round of the 2017 IndyCar Series. Dixon has an impressive record of 41 CART/IndyCar wins since 2001 but this is his first ever victory at the iconic road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Its also his first win of the season. He was in the championship lead before this race, with new victory he extends the lead ahead of Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud.

Scott Dixon wins at Road America for the first time in a career
Dixon took the lead at the restart on lap 30, passing Josef Newgarden from the outside. In the next 25 laps, nobody challenged Dixon and he crossed the finish line as the winner ahead of four Team Penske’s Chevrolets. There was one more yellow-flag interruption with ten laps to go, when Tony Kanaan crashed out in turn 11.
After that last restart, Dixon stayed in front. Josef Newgarden was close, but he was 0.5779 seconds short at the end. Helio Castroneves completed a podium, ahead of Simon Pagenaud and Will Power. Charlie Kimball, Ed Jones, Graham Rahal, Max Chilton and Mikhail Aleshin completed the top 10.

The next event on the IndyCar calendar is the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway, scheduled for July 9.
