Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won the pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the second round of the 2016 Formula 1 World Championship. Reigning champion and winner of last two races in Bahrain was faster than his teammate Nico Rosberg and pair of Ferrari drivers.

Wehrlein did well for Manor

Felipe Nasr in Sauber was the first one who was eliminated what was a small surprise. Rio Haryanto was the next out of qualifying and he was followed by a pair of Renault’s drivers Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen. Sergio Perez and Marcus Ericsson also failed to qualify for the Q2 while rookie Pascal Wehrlein did a great job for Manor as he was 16th in qualifying what is a huge achievement for the outsider team.

It was obvious that pair of Mercedes again will fight for pole position, with Ferrari waiting for a chance to break the dominance of the German team. Both teams easily qualified for the last round, while boring second qualifying round was the last for Daniil Kvyat, Jenson Button, Esteban Gutierrez, Stoffel Vandoorne, Carlos Sainz Jr, Max Verstappen and Romain Grosjean.

Mercedes easily wins battle with Ferrari

Last round was more interesting than the one in Melbourne. Mercedes and Ferrari battled for the pole position until the last moment. In a meantime, Nico Hulkenberg, Felipe Massa, Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo had to settle for places from eight to five.
